Phil believes in bespoke portfolio management. Each client, depending on their stage of life, risk tolerance and financial objectives deserves their own personalized portfolio. In addition, for Phil, being a true wealth manager means more than just picking stocks, which is why his offering includes the retirement planning and insurance needs of his clients.
Phil feels strongly that Canadians are generally too reluctant to venture south of the border, where the range of investment opportunities is much broader, allowing him to construct much better portfolios for his clients.
Another core belief is that investors tend to keep too high an exposure to volatile stocks as they enter their senior years. Having started his career at the months before the Global Financial Crisis, Phil is keenly aware of the damage a bear market can cause - unless you are young enough to hold tight through the recovery. And even though bonds yield too little, and present too much risk, there are alternatives, such as REITs, MICs and other products that can provide solid returns without risking it all on the stock market.
Phil is a McGill Commerce grad who now lives in the Trinity Bellwoods area of Toronto. He is a big sports enthusiast, and is deeply involved in community and local charitable organizations.
