Foster & Associates is a Toronto firm, and as such most of our clients have some exposure or another to the GTA real estate market. So, while investing in real estate is a well-recognized diversification tool, the last thing they probably want to do at this point is increase their exposure to this hotter-than-hot market. It’s for this reason that we’re taking a look at Timbercreek and their Four Quadrant Global Real Estate Partners fund. The name Four Quadrants comes from the four areas of real estate this fund invests in – private equity, private debt, public equity and public debt.

As anyone familiar with FosterIQ is aware, we have been interested in the Alternative Lending space for some time. One firm that we like, but haven’t allocated to yet, is NextEdge.  They have a nice little product called NextEdge Private Debt Fund that invests almost exclusively in receivables.
